Meadville golfer picks Clarion

Meadville's Alyssa Gerhart has committed to continue her academic and athletic careers at Clarion University in the fall of 2009.

Gerhart finished in third place at the District 10 championship, just two strokes behind Oil City's Becca Schuster.

The Bulldog golfer is the 2008 Region 1 Player of the Year, and was approached by Youngstown State, Robert Morris and Mount St. Mary's in Maryland.

Clarion started the girls golf program this season, and is an NCAA Division A member of the PSAC. The Golden Eagles will qualify for the NCAA tournament through the Eastern Region.
