Mercyhurst Prep coach resigns

Mercyhurst Prep girls soccer coach David DiSanza resigned on Monday in order to spend more time with his family.

DiSanza finished with a 135-50-9 overall record in nine seasons with the Lakers. DiSanza led Mercyhurst Prep to the District 10 championship eight times, including a trip this past season. Mercyhurst Prep lost to area-rival McDowell 2-1 in the District 10 Class AAA championship. The Lakers won one D-10 title, and claimed three region and one metro-league championship in DiSanza's career.

A search for a new coach will begin immediately by Mercyhurst Prep athletic director Dan Perfetto. Anyone interested should contact Perfetto by emailing dperfetto@mpslakers.com or by calling (814) 824-2068. The deadline for applications is December 19th.
