Plenty to read about for football playoffs

The Erie Times-News and the Varsity edition have written plenty about the District 10 postseason going into this weekend. Here's a chance for our online readers to catch up.

In Wednesday's Varsity edition, our cover story was about the Strong Vincent linemen and their contributions the Colonels' 11-0 season.

On Thursday, we wrote about General McLane kicker David Olszewski and his streak of 56 consecutive extra-point kicks this season. Also that day, we published a notebook that addressed McDowell's rise to No. 6 in the state rankings and other playoff notes, such as the running of McLane quarterback Kellen O'Neill.

In today's edition, we had a story about Cathedral Prep quarterback Shyquawn Pullium and his emergence as an offensive force. At the end of that story, Prep and Vincent fans can find the preview of tonight's District 10 Class AAA title game.

We also previewed the two Class A semifinal games in today's edition.

On Saturday, we'll have features on General McLane and McDowell as well as previews for all three playoff games involving District 10 teams.

Vincent and Prep fans also can review last week's game stories from the Class AAA semifinals. Colonels faithful can get a field-level look as Darrell Brooks' long touchdown run on the opening play of the game on the video, "District 10 Football playoffs" on GoErie.com/video. (You can see the video below, as well.)
