There was plenty of girls basketball action on Thursday night. Here's how the region leaders going into Thursday fared.
Region 1
Kennedy Catholic (3-2, 1-0) - Defeated Warren JFK 54-33 in a non-region game.
Farrell (1-6, 1-1) - Lost to Rocky Grove 59-27 to fall out of first-place tie.
Region 2
Sharpsville (4-1, 1-1) - Lost to Reynolds 44-27 to put the Raiders into first place.
Region 3
Saegertown (4-2, 1-0) - Defeated Conneaut Valley 39-22 to open region play. However, since region play opened on Thursday, Conneaut Lake, Maplewood and Cambridge Springs all moved into a first-place tie with 1-0 region records.
Region 4
Villa Maria (5-0, 3-0) - Idle on Thursday, and will host Iroquois on Saturday.
Eisenhower (5-1, 3-0) - Idle on Thursday, and will travel to Girard on Saturday.
Region 5
Hickory (4-1, 1-0) - Defeated Titusville 47-43 to open region play. However, Sharon, Franklin and Slippery Rock all moved into a first-place tie with opening wins in region play.
Region 6
General McLane (5-0, 0-0) - Defeated Strong Vincent 71-45 in a non-region game.
Region 7
McDowell (7-0, 0-0) - Defeated Fort LeBoeuf 56-35 in a non-region game.
