Iroquois linebacker could take down tackling record

Jake Szoszorek ranked among the state's best Class A linebackers when the Associated Press Pennsylvania high school football team was announced Monday. The Iroquois junior was voted to the second team at that position.

Szoszorek also could rank as the Braves' best tackler by the end of his scholastic career. He totaled 125 for the 2008 season, which gave him a three-year total of 325.

Szoszorek is believed to be within 50 tackles of the Iroquois record. Coach Mike Mischler didn't have the specific total readily available, but said the current mark is held by 2006 graduate Steve Barringer.
