McDowell boys beat Strong Vincent

Jason Franz came off the bench to score 14 points Wednesday as the McDowell boys basketball team beat Strong Vincent 56-43 in an important Region 7 game at Paul Goll Gymnasium.

The Trojans, ranked No. 1 in District 10 Class AAAA, improved to 14-4 overall and 4-0 in the region. They can clinch the region title with a victory over George Junior on Friday.

Vincent, ranked No. 2 in D-10 AAAA, dropped to 11-7, 3-2.

This was the only District 10 game played in the Erie area Wednesday.
