Second-round sites set for D-10 girls basketball

Three of out of the four local state-ranked teams will hit the road Wednesday, while one will be at Edinboro's McComb Fieldhouse.

Villa Maria, the No. 1 team in the state in Class AA, will travel to Meadville Area High School to take on Greenville at 6:30 p.m. The second game of the doubleheader at Meadville will feature No. 7 Mercyhurst Prep and Region 5 champion Franklin at 8 p.m.

No. 6 Girard will head to McComb to take on Region 2 champion Reynolds at 8 p.m. Eisenhower and Conneaut Valley will play a Class A semifinal game at 6:30 p.m. at McComb.

The No. 4 General McLane girls will travel to Sharon High School on Wednesday to take on Slippery Rock at 8 p.m. The Lancers-Rockets game is the second game of a doubleheader after a Class A game between Kennedy Catholic and Cochranton at 6:30 p.m.

In Class AAAA, the championship game has been moved to Thursday and no longer has a designated site, according to the District 10 website.
