Mercyhurst Prep freshman Marie Georger is the only D-10 swimmer or diver who will enter the state meet as a top seed in an event. However, many others are seeded among the top five.
Georger shattered the D-10 Class AA record in the 100-yard backstroke Saturday with a time of 55.67 seconds. That was 4.56 seconds faster than the record, and it was good for the top seed going into state meet, which will take place March 11-14 at the Bucknell University in Lewisburg. She is also seeded fourth in the 200 individual medley (2:07.51).
Several other D-10 performers are seeded second: Fairview’s Maggie Glass (AA 50 free, 24.22 seconds), Fairview's girls 200 free relay (AA, 1:38.92), North East’s Mac Lewis (AA diving, 501.35 points), Harbor Creek’s Brittany DiSanti (AA diving, 464.60), Cathedral Prep’s 200 medley relay (AAA, 1:35.00), Cathedral Prep’s Joseph Stark (AAA 200 IM, 1:53.15), McDowell’s Kelsey Herbst (AAA 500 free, 4:57.00).
