It's been so crazy since I arrived in Denver that I've eaten only granola bars--apple cinnamon, chocolate chip, and peanut butter. I just returned from the first Pennsylvania delegation breakfast. No, I didn't get any food...but I did pack a berry granola bar to nibble on while I raced around tracking down my story. I met with all of our local delegates, and they are ready to make issues important to Erie the forefront of their trip.
I also spoke one-on-one with Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey and Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell.
I've been covering Casey for two years and when he first started in Washington he had a horrible basement office with hardly any furniture. After announcing his support for Barack Obama earlier than many other members of the Senate, Casey has become a rising star in the Democratic party. When I caught him in the hallway here's what he had to say about it...
Keep in mind this is raw video. As a one-woman-band I hold the camera over my shoulder while doing the interview at the same time. The woman you see to the right is Kendra--the Senator's press secretary. She's keeping him on schedule, despite my interruption.
Now I'm racing off to the Pepsi Center to track down the rest of my story...Stay Tuned!
